Yes, a utility company may have a need for snowcat service. Snowcats are used to access remote areas and to transport personnel and equipment to and from these areas. They can also be used to clear snow from roads and power lines, and to transport materials and supplies to utility sites.


Beaver Crk Snowcat uses the Tucker Terra 2000XL because it's a light four-wheel drive utility vehicle manufactured by the Tucker Sno-Cat® Corporation. It is designed for use in extreme terrain and is capable of traversing snow, mud, sand, and other difficult surfaces. With four tracks, the Terra 2000XL is powered by a Cummins 3.9 liter turbo diesel engine and is equipped with an automatic transmission. It has a payload capacity of up to 1,500 pounds and a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. Our snowcat is also quipped with a 9,000 lb winch for increased efficiency for situations in the back country. It features a rear deck for loaded equipment and a heated cab large enough for four passengers and operator.

  • Access to Cell Towers and Utility Site Locations:

    When cell towers or radio transmitter towers are constructed, they are usually located in remote areas that have limited access. In the winter months, reaching these locations can be daunting and only reachable by a helicopter or snowcat. We can get your maintenance technician to the required location with the tools that are needed for routine maintenance or emergency repairs.

  • Seasonal Road Openings:

    Roads to remote areas can become dangerous in the winter. Sometimes special equipment needs to be brought in for when there are road closures. A snowcat could be the exception and granted access to sensitive areas that have strict supervision and guidelines. With this type of vehicle, we can also clear a path for remote cabins and recreational sites.

  • Specialized Equipment:

    Snow drifts are common in the winter and can cause landslides, road washouts and the shifting of land masses causing road blocks, downed trees and disturbed areas. This can be challenging if you are on your way to an emergency repair. We carry equipment to deal with these issues so you and your equipment arrive safely to your destination.

  • Transporting Maintenance Equipment:

    Even in the winter months, maintenance is required at times. New equipment may be needed and brought to a site at the top of a mountain or remote area. Possibly your technician needs transported for testing services or whatever the reason may be, This can be impossible during severe winter months without the use of a snowcat.

  • Winching and Hauling Capabilities:

    Sometimes even snowcats need additional equipment to get to some very steep remote areas. Our Tucker Terra 2000 XL Sno-cat® is equipped with a winch that features 9,000 lb capabilities and is light enough to be safe and built strong enough to do whats needed to clear a path.

  • Can I rent a snowcat?

    If you are looking to rent a snowcat, give us a call. Beaver Crk Inc. contracts with anyone who may need snowcat service. However, because of the safety standards that it takes to operate a snowcat, our rentals come with a skilled driver. We specialize in the back country where experienced drivers know the dangers and safety precautions are a priority. We offer transport services for for businesses, and the private sector, to locations that can be difficult to get to by conventional transportation methods. Remote cabins and surveys for land owners are an example.
